Warehouse & Distribution Centre Cleaning
Warehouse cleaning is a traffic problem as much as a cleaning problem. The floor is shared with lift trucks, pallets move through the aisles all day, and the dock doors bring in most of the dirt on the site.
Suitable for
- Distribution centres and third-party logistics sites
- Wholesale and e-commerce fulfilment warehouses
- Cold-adjacent dry storage and cross-dock facilities
- Warehouse space attached to manufacturing or retail operations
Typical scope
What the work covers, area by area
Your final scope is written after the walkthrough. This is the shape it usually takes.
Aisles and open floor
- Machine sweeping or scrubbing of open floor and accessible aisles
- Manual detail along rack bases, column guards and edges the machine cannot reach
- Spot attention to spills identified during the visit and reported to your contact
Loading docks and shipping areas
- Sweep and scrub dock aprons, leveller pits where accessible and staging areas
- Clean dock door tracks and bumpers within safe reach
- Remove shrink wrap, banding and debris to your designated bins
Racking and storage areas
- Dusting of accessible rack uprights and lower beams
- Floor cleaning around stored product without moving or handling stock
Staff and office areas
- Washrooms, lunchrooms, locker rooms and shipping offices to a written janitorial schedule
- Entrances, corridors and stair landings
Periodic work
- Deeper floor scrubbing of high-traffic lanes
- Detail cleaning of guard rails, safety bollards and signage faces

About this service
We plan the work around how your building actually runs: which aisles can be cleaned when, where equipment can travel safely, and how the crew stays clear of active picking and loading.
Not included, or assessed separately
- Moving, handling, re-stacking or unwrapping stock and pallets
- Cleaning above racking level or anything requiring lifts or fall protection, unless assessed and quoted separately
- Rack inspection, repair or damage reporting beyond noting obvious hazards
- Conveyor, sortation and automation equipment cleaning
- Yard, trailer and exterior pavement sweeping
- Spill response involving hazardous or regulated materials
Recurring service or a scheduled project
Recurring
Typical programs combine a nightly or weekly floor pass with a daily janitorial schedule for staff areas, plus a periodic deeper floor clean at a set interval.
One-time or scheduled project
Scheduled projects work well for inventory-count weekends, seasonal peaks, lease handovers or a reset of a floor that has not been machine-cleaned in some time.
Scheduling and access
Cleaning is available 24/7 and can be scheduled at any hour, including overnight and weekends, to work around your operations.
- We agree which zones are cleaned on which nights so picking and shipping are not blocked.
- Crews keep clear of active lift-truck routes and follow your site rules on high-visibility clothing, pedestrian lanes and speed of equipment.
- Shift changeovers and quiet windows are usually the best time for machine work; we confirm yours at the walkthrough.
- Site orientation covers muster points, first aid, spill reporting and who the crew reports to on arrival.
How this gets quoted and what affects price
Every scope starts with a walkthrough of your site. We look at the areas involved, the condition they are in, how the space is used during the day, and what access looks like. The written proposal that follows lists the areas, the tasks in each area, the frequency and who is responsible for what.
We do not publish rates, because they would be guesses. These are the factors that move the number for this service:
- Total floor area and the proportion that is open floor versus narrow aisle
- How much of the floor is obstructed by stock at the time of service
- Frequency of the floor pass and of staff-area cleaning
- Dock count and how heavily the docks are used
- Condition of the floor at the start and how much recovery work is needed
- Whether machine access, water fill and disposal points are available on site
Example written scope
| Area | Tasks | Frequency | Responsibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main aisles | Machine scrub of accessible lanes | Weekly | ALD |
| Open floor / staging | Sweep and scrub clear areas | Weekly | ALD |
| Loading docks | Sweep aprons, clear debris, wipe bumpers | Weekly | ALD |
| Clearing stock from lanes | Aisles cleared before the crew arrives | Each service night | Client |
| Washrooms and lunchroom | Full janitorial task list | Each service day | ALD |
| Rack bases and guards | Detail dusting and wipe-down | Periodic | ALD |
